Dr. Brad Simpson earned his bachelor’s degree at Brigham Young University, Idaho, and followed his passion for social work by pursuing his master’s degree from the University of Utah and his doctoral degree in social work from the University of Tennessee. Brad specializes in working with couples, families, and adolescents in acute inpatient, intensive outpatient, and residential settings. He is intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and provides training for mental health professionals across the United States.
He has served in several administrative capacities most recently as executive director of a fully adherent DBT program. He is currently an associate professor and director of the bachelors of social work program at Southern Utah University. He is currently the director of research and development at Sunrise Residential Treatment Center a fully adherent DBT program and the founder and owner of 3rd Wave Counseling and Consulting.
In addition to research, administrative duties, and clinical practice, Dr. Simpson enjoys teaching undergraduate students, mentoring students, interns, and training clinicians. Brad loves running, hiking, mountain biking, lifting weights, long boarding, and spending time with his family. He’s also a big fan of spectator sports of all kinds.

Craig earned his master’s degree in social work and a bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation from the The University of Utah. He has dedicated more than 20 years of working with children, adolescents, and their families in outpatient, day treatment, and residential settings.
Craig specializes in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Attention- Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, attachment disorders, mood and anxiety disorders. He is foundationally trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and has been providing multi-family DBT skills groups, as well as individual DBT for more than 20 years.
He is certified in mind-body bridging and trained Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and DBT-PE and is currently offering Ketamine Assisted Therapy here at Cedar City Mental Health and Wellness Group.

Steve was born and raised in Northern Utah. He earned a dual BA in psychology and social work from Weber State University. Upon graduation, Steve started his social work career as a caseworker for DCFS where he specialized in working with adolescents and their families. During this time, he also started working with youth in residential care.
Steve has lived in Southern Utah for the last 10 years where he continued to work with youth in various residential treatment centers. He has worked with adolescents struggling with addiction and those dealing with the trauma of adoption. Steve is also trained in neurofeedback therapy. His goal is to continue his social work journey of working with adolescents and their families.
In his free time, Steve enjoys being with his wife, six children, and four grandchildren.
